1. Heat butter & olive oil in frying pan. Brown pork chops on each side.
2. Add the slightly crushed peppercorns, bay leaves, salt and red wine vinegar to the pan; stir.
3. Cover and simmer for about 30 minutes, turning pork chops often to prevent drying. There will be only a thin layer of juice in the pan when the pork chops are done; spoon this over the pork chops when serving.
